Production has recently begun on the 2nd half of Season 1 of Pretty Little Liars, and I have signed on as their Lighting Console Programmer. We’ve been shooting for a couple of weeks now, and everything’s been great. Apparently the show’s been doing really well for itself, so who knows, this may be the start of a healthy stretch of work!

I’ve been extremely grateful for all the work I’ve had this year, though as a side effect, I haven’t done much in the realm of photography in quite some time. I need to get some more shoots in the pipeline… but honestly, I’ve still got quite a backlog of photos I still need to get through and edit!

Let me start of by saying that Cameron Diaz is the nicest and most warm and friendly actor I’ve worked with. In fact, all the cast in this film were fantastic to work with. Since this film was a bit smaller than the last few I’ve worked on, everyone felt like family by the end of it. I hope to work with all these people again in the future, and I hope the movie turns out to be as funny as it was while filming it!

Recently had the opportunity to work on Thor. Back to back comic book movies is cool with me! Definitely no expense spared on this one. Naturally I can’t talk about the film itself, but what I can tell you is that most of my time was spent working at night in the mud and rain. Sure, that’s not the most ideal working conditions, but hey, it was still a blast to be a part of. The sets they had constructed both on and off the stage were extremely impressive!

Completed work on Jonah Hex here in Los Angeles. This film was originally shot in Louisiana, but apparently the powers that be decided on some fairly extensive re-shoots/pickups. I had a lot of fun working on this one, and everyone involved was great to work with. I wasn’t familiar with the comic this movie is based on, but here’s hoping it’ll be a fun ride once it hits theaters.

ETC: Set Lighting & The Sarah Silverman Program

The article focuses on our lighting console rig and it’s wireless capabilities. I’ve set up a wireless network on our soundstage that enables me to use a wireless Tablet PC or even my iPhone to control the entire lighting rig from anywhere on stage. It’s been an enormous benefit for me over the course of the season, and makes me wonder how I lived without it!

What you see to your right is one solitary pancake… with the power to put Willy Wonka himself into a sugar-induced coma. This one happens to be filled with chocolate and coconut. Sounds crazy, I know, but believe me, if you’ve never been, you owe it to yourself to visit the Griddle Cafe on Sunset Blvd.

Well, after quite a long “summer vacation,” I landed a spot as the lighting console programmer for Season 3 of the Sarah Silverman Program. Principle Photography started this morning, and will keep me busy through October. I’m not sure when this season begins to air, but when I know, I’ll let you know.

I’ve also been busy with a handful of photo shoots. Once I’m finished retouching the lot of ‘em, they’ll be posted for your viewing pleasure. Overall, it should be a fairly large boost to my portfolio.

There have been a lot of updates recently, and I’ve gotta say, I think I’m nearing the finish line. It feels good to finally get this done.

The Photo Gallery is now fully live, complete with sub-galleries. I have given you the option to right-click any photo and save it if you wish. You can also use the keyboard arrows to cruise around the gallery really quickly should you choose. The Set Stills section has four pages worth of photos, and I’m gonna try to keep it at that, though I’ll admit it’s tough to keep that number down. I will probably end up swapping photos in and out from time to time as I settle in on a finalized set — that is, until there are new pics to be added.

I am testing the functionality of writing a post via my iPhone. I’m sure the text portion of this will come out just fine, but I’m curious as to how an image will be displayed since I’m using specific div tags for positioning purposes. Here goes nothing…

EDIT: Well, I can add the proper div class from the iPhone to put it in the right place…but creating the thumbnail is another issue. Since my thumbnails in these blog posts are a specified width & height, I need to find a way to crop them, instead of just squishing them into those proportions.

Yet another re-design! Though I believe this one will be here to stay. Logo, fonts, and other doo-dads may change from time to time, but I am fairly confident with the layout this time…at least until the next redesign.

My list of credits are finally up! I haven’t kept an updated list for at least a few years now, so it was quite an undertaking trying to recall all the projects I’ve worked on. I’m currently unsure if I like the scroll bar there or not… The other obvious option is to basically hide the excess credits that would extend beyond the bottom line, leaving me with a list of my most recent work. I’ll hafta toy around with that a bit.

I’ve also settled on an image viewer. Personally, I’ve found it to be the most efficient way for users to browse through images with the least amount of load time. *User tip: you can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate the gallery.
